My Neck of the Woods for Dec 11

Hello friends! I hope you’ve had a fabulous week, wherever you are in the world! My neck of the woods has been growing more and more festive as we draw nearer to Christmas, and everyone around me has been growing more excited. Elaine, Amelia, and I decorated the tree on Thursday – Elaine said they’ve never put it up this early before, but I think she’s rather excited about it šŸ˜‰

We put on our Christmas hats. Amelia brought down her speakers and I brought down my laptop and I put up a Christmas playlist, and we enjoyed port and then the mulled punch Jon and I bought at The Cattows last week, and we got the tree dressed up to its full glory. Only one strand of multicolour lights worked, much to Elaine’s disappointment, but the addition of these bright, sparkly white lights really set it off!

Of course, it wasn’t complete for me without my Tim Horton’s ornaments and a few ornaments my adopted mom made many years ago.

It was a lovely evening bonding with my MIL and SIL and feeling super festive!

And now for the week in daily photos! šŸ™‚

Monday, Dec 5

I went shopping in Burton-upon-Trent with Elaine, her sisters Angela and Yvonne, and the ever-fabulous Nanny Pat. It was my first time in Burton and I quite enjoyed it! We had lunch at Wetherspoon’s in between all our Christmas shopping. I came away with some things for Jon, and a few other odds and ends!

Tuesday, Dec 6

I must keep reminding you how gorgeous the sunsets are lately! Ā I was sore and tired after going out on Monday, so I stayed home today and wrapped presents and worked on art.

Wednesday, Dec 7

After helping Elaine declutter, I set to work finishing up an upcoming blog freebie! I won’t tell what it is just yet, you’ll see for yourselves in a few days!

Thursday, Dec 8

Jon was working from home today, and we went out for lunch at Rose Cottage Tearoom in Ashby. It was very quiet there, and enjoyable as it was last time! And, like last time, I had the baked Camembert and a gingerbread hot chocolate. After we got back, it was tree decorating time!

Friday, Dec 9

Wrapping presents and listening to Christmas music!

Saturday, Dec 10

A mostly relaxing day involving a lot of Minecraft playing with Jon and our friend Paul. It was a grey, rainy day, and it felt so cosy. Jon and I went toĀ Coalville to our favourite place for dinner, Imge, and I enjoyed both the food and the festive atmosphere!

Sunday, Dec 11

A quiet Sunday at home, and enjoying one of my favourite indulgences!
