My Neck of the Woods, Dec 26

Happy Holidays, loves! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week, wherever you are in the world, and that you’re busy eating, drinking, and being merry! This week’s My Neck of the Woods is a day late due to how busy I was yesterday.

I had a truly wonderful Christmas Eve and Day; my heart is so very full. To have this privilege of sitting next to my husband, listening to Christmas music, having our big festive dinner and then opening gifts, with his family around me and taking me in as a part of them… I felt only deep gratitude, fulfillment, and true happiness that continues through today. It brings me to my knees.

Everything was merry and bright as wind and rain angrily lashed outside in the darkness. And not only was there light coming from the room and from the tree, there was light coming from within.

I am full of love.

Thank you, Universe.

And now here is the week in photos, loves!

Monday, Dec 19

It was back to Beesley’s today so Jon and I could enjoy a festive lunch and drink. I especially loved the gingerbread latte I got!

Tuesday, Dec 20

Working on some gift art for a lovely lady on LiveJournal! I find that my Copics have a nice effect when used on this watercolour paper.

Wednesday, Dec 21

I received a lovely little gift from a LiveJournal friend! I do love to receive happy mail 🙂

Thursday, Dec 22

Another trip to Tesco to grab last-minute items. As a fan of Baileys, this special edition flavour was a huge YES! P.S. it’s great in hot chocolate!

Friday, Dec 23

This evening we went to a little festive dinner hosted by our friends Holly and Simon. My favourite bits were her pigs in blankets and the mulled wine! Their kittens were very curious about everything going on, and I even got to pet shy Margery for a moment. When Jon and I got home, Amelia joined us to play a new game called Mechs Vs. Minions, a sort of spin-off from the video game League of Legends. Here’s the set-up for the tutorial, which helped us get the hang of the game right away.

Saturday, Dec 24

Happy Hanukkah and Happy Christmas Eve! Today we went to Jon’s Aunt Angela’s for a family tea, which was lovely and included these gorgeous cupcakes that Angela and the young cousins made.

Sunday, Dec 25

Merry Christmas! Here’s the table set up for our afternoon dinner…

And here’s a few extra photos from the day and evening!
