Hi everyone! This is my new, monthly happy post where I list the things I have liked and loved. It’s all thanks to A Cornish Mum for creating a link party stemming from her own monthly likes & loves lists!
MY LIKES AND LOVES – MAY 2018
♥ Discovering ChaTime! ♥
May tends to be the month where I start missing Toronto more than usual. It could be because of how I used to go to Anime North with Liat and Alora and I’m always sad to not be able to get involved anymore. I was really craving some good bubble tea, the kind with tapioca pearls in it, and most bubble tea I’ve encountered around here has pearls made of jelly instead of tapioca. Still good, but not the same taste!
♥ The Vintage Carnival! ♥
Even though the weather turned dire in the end, this carnival at Leicester Racecourse was a lot of fun and there were tons of good buys and lovely vintage outfits. Here’s Holly and me posing with our Prosecco cocktails, as you do:
♥ This lovely creature turning 29 years old! ♥
Jon’s birthday was on the 20th. He’s starting to catch up with me in age now *cough cough*.
♥ This face oil! ♥
I picked up this cruelty-free face oil at TK Maxx at the beginning of the month. I was wanting to add more moisture and suppleness to my skin as it starts getting older, and just three nightly drops of this stuff does the trick. My face no longer feels tight after washing, hooray!
♥ Good eats! ♥
Jon and I have been trying to cut down on our eating out/takeaway spending, because it’s really sledgehammered the ol’ bank account these past several months. Eek. But we did eat at a few really fab places, including Tatra Eastern Corner, which I’ll be reviewing here next time we go. I hadn’t had pierogy since I lived in Toronto and I’d been sorely missing it, so I was very pleased with what I had here!
♥ These face sprays! ♥
The Body Shop introduced a line of moisturizing facial sprays, and I’m in love. I usually use the strawberry one as part of my morning skincare routine, and the coconut one will be used at nighttime and probably twice a day in the dry, cold seasons. They’re also small enough to keep in my handbag.
♥ My nephew graduating high school! ♥
My oldest nephew, Trenton, turned eighteen last month and graduated high school last week. It’s so hard to believe, especially as a long-distance aunt. I’m so proud of the young man he’s become!
What’s been great about your May?
